SAY IT ISN'T SO // ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Last Tuesday night was the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Awards ceremony. We all got suited, booted and frocked as it was a rather civilised affair.

Although we didn't win in the end (it's the taking part that counts innit), it was a real genuine privilege to have our album "The Quickening" on the short-list.

Massive congratulations to both Aidan Moffat and Bill Wells for bagging the prize, it couldn't have gone to two more deserving guys, and also a HUGE HUGE thank you to everybody involved in organising what has been a excellent as well as truly valid celebration of what Scottish music can offer, as well as what for us was an absolutely fantastic experience!

Meanwhile, we're on the road again...

It's a West Coast Thing

We are extremely happy to announce that we will be playing at The Oran Mor on the closing night of the West End festival. From a stolen sea have put together an incredible line-up, including Aidan Moffat and Bill Wells, RM Hubbert, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Miaoux Miaoux, Wounded Knee and even more, playing across the entire Oran Mor building.

What's more, the entire event will be presented in 5.1 surround sound.

This all takes place on Sunday the 24th of June.

To cap it all off, the Oran Mor is actually the church spire seen on the cover of The Quickening, for fans of useless facts.

It's going to be a very special day indeed!

"THE MIXENING" || UK TOUR WITH ERRORS

We're happy to announce that we have a new release appearing very soon! We've had our entire album “The Quickening” remixed by a host of talented bizzums, the release is entitled, naturally, “The Mixening”.

It's a real privilege to have had such talents re-work our music and stamp their own individuality on the tracks, from the more beat-driven versions of “John Candy” and “One Happier” by Ben Butler & Mousepad and grnr respectively, to the spaghetti western shuffle incorporated into “Hey Zeus, courtesy of FOUND and the foreboding industrial pulse of The Twilight Sad's take on “White Castle”, not to mention the ambient washes of Enoch Point's “Scottish Widows” remix and Dam Mantle's pulsing, hypnotic overhaul of “Ocean Potion”.

Download a preview of the album HERE; a stunning version of “Unclean Powers”, remixed to dizzying effect by The Phantom Band.

You can pick up copy of “The Mixening” ahead of it's official March release when we go out on tour around the UK next week with our friends and label-mates Errors (whose new album “Have Some Faith In Magic” is their best yet and very likely the best thing you'll hear all year):

YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH

Firstly, massive thanks to everyone who came along to see us play last weekend in Manchester and Sheffield and the week previous in Edinburgh, it was great to get out of town and get such a good reaction!
The next opportunity people will have to see us in England will be coming sooner rather than later. We are extremely excited to announce that we will be supporting our good friends and labelmates Errors on their February 2012 tour in support of their forthcoming album "Have Some Faith In Magic". Excellent times will be had! Full tour dates and links on where to buy tickets can be found on the 'gigs' page.
Before then we will be playing our final Glasgow show of 2011 on Friday December 16th at the ABC on Sauchiehall Street, supporting We Were Promised Jetpacks. It will be a great finale for what has been a great year for us! Tickets can be bought here.
Lastly, we have some new t-shirts on our bigcartel page. Lilac print on a purple shirt, with an amazing design by our pal Julian at Moonshake Design, it's available in small, medium, large and XL.
