I am very happy to announce that Remember Remember will be performing at the West End Festival All Dayer at the Oran Mor, Glasgow, on Sunday 21st of June, 2015.

It is less happily that I announce that this will be the bands final performance together.

The last 8 years were a meticulously unplanned adventure that saw us play in a Planetarium, an Ice Arena and an indoor Firework Display made of cardboard...that had us attempting, and succeeding, to cram a Pink Floyd-esque amount of equipment onto the smallest stages across the British Isles. A grandiose, prog rock 'fuck off' to an age of austerity.

Remember Remember was never supposed to be a 'band' in the conventional sense, more of an open collective with members free to come and go whenever they pleased. I'm eternally grateful to everyone that played at any gig and any record, and particularly to the the guys that stayed, and made me realise that a 'conventional band' isn't a bad thing after all...music, like most things, is much more fun with friends.

I'm never going to stop writing music, but they'll never be another band like this. I'm posting an older portrait of us from when Steven was still playing with us, I regret that we never did a shoot when Joan was still in the band.

After being on ice figuratively, we'll now be on ice for real! This coming Monday (August 5th) we'll be performing at Dundee Ice Arena as part of the Blue Skies Festival. Also performing will be Dundee’s own British Championship winning ice skaters, who have choreographed a special performance along with our music. This is a real honour and we're extremely excited for the show!

Oh also, did we mention that the show is free entry?? So no excuses! You do need to book your place though, so head to the Blue Skies Website and reserve your spot on the ice.

This year has been a quiet one for us in terms of playing shows, but we do have at least a couple more dates to announce soon, so more updates to come!

Last Tuesday night was the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Awards ceremony. We all got suited, booted and frocked as it was a rather civilised affair.

Although we didn't win in the end (it's the taking part that counts innit), it was a real genuine privilege to have our album "The Quickening" on the short-list.

Massive congratulations to both Aidan Moffat and Bill Wells for bagging the prize, it couldn't have gone to two more deserving guys, and also a HUGE HUGE thank you to everybody involved in organising what has been a excellent as well as truly valid celebration of what Scottish music can offer, as well as what for us was an absolutely fantastic experience!

Meanwhile, we're on the road again...
We are extremely happy to announce that we will be playing at The Oran Mor on the closing night of the West End festival. From a stolen sea have put together an incredible line-up, including Aidan Moffat and Bill Wells, RM Hubbert, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Miaoux Miaoux, Wounded Knee and even more, playing across the entire Oran Mor building.

What's more, the entire event will be presented in 5.1 surround sound.

This all takes place on Sunday the 24th of June.

To cap it all off, the Oran Mor is actually the church spire seen on the cover of The Quickening, for fans of useless facts.

It's going to be a very special day indeed!

We're happy to announce that we have a new release appearing very soon! We've had our entire album “The Quickening” remixed by a host of talented bizzums, the release is entitled, naturally, “The Mixening”.

It's a real privilege to have had such talents re-work our music and stamp their own individuality on the tracks, from the more beat-driven versions of “John Candy” and “One Happier” by Ben Butler & Mousepad and grnr respectively, to the spaghetti western shuffle incorporated into “Hey Zeus, courtesy of FOUND and the foreboding industrial pulse of The Twilight Sad's take on “White Castle”, not to mention the ambient washes of Enoch Point's “Scottish Widows” remix and Dam Mantle's pulsing, hypnotic overhaul of “Ocean Potion”.

Download a preview of the album HERE; a stunning version of “Unclean Powers”, remixed to dizzying effect by The Phantom Band.

You can pick up copy of “The Mixening” ahead of it's official March release when we go out on tour around the UK next week with our friends and label-mates Errors (whose new album “Have Some Faith In Magic” is their best yet and very likely the best thing you'll hear all year):

I saw this is an an opportunity to play one of my all time favourite pieces of music, from my favourite work of art of all time, David Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks. We chose the main title them as it is, I feel, the most iconic. Would love one day to also cover Laura Palmer's theme, Audrey's Dance, The Nightingale and The Pink Room. One Day.
